The OFT road show team has a busy schedule ahead. On July 25 – 29, they will visit Longreach, Barcaldine, Blackall and Winton. Then at the end of August it’s off to the Sunshine Coast with stops at Gympie, Tin Can Bay , Mapleton, Montville and Maleny.
During these visits Fair Trading officers will conduct information sessions for consumers and members of incorporated associations. Topics that will be discussed include:
General consumer rights and issues - refunds, consumer guarantees, credit, scams, used motor vehicles and unsolicited consumer agreements.
Incorporated association requirements and responsibilities - auditing requirements, annual reports and annual general meetings.
At the end of each presentation the public will have an opportunity to express any concerns, gain clarification of issues or receive more information about the topics discussed.
